The meeting started with an opening prayer said by Mr. Eze Anselem followed by introduction of ICPC staff by Nwozor Chinwe, Mrs. Ebeh Geraldine facilitated the introduction of ACERDEN staff, then presentation of Kola by the ICPC commandant, Mr. Prince Hassan .M. thereafter, address by the chairman/CEO of African Centre for Rural Development & Environment, Prof. Daniel S. Ugwu, he started by appreciating the good work ICPC were doing in the South East Zone and Enugu State in particular with respect to ICPC contribution to democracy/good governance and anti-corruption activities in the region.
Prof. Daniel S. Ugwu told ICPC staff that ACERDEN has a long standing relationship with the ICPC. ACERDEN has partnered with ICPC in the execution of good number of projects and activities; notwithstanding, the primary aim of ACERDEN visit is to explore ways of deepening our relationship with ICPC in achieving her mandate in the South East Geopolitical Zone and promoting anti-corruption activities in Enugu State. ACERDENsolicits partnership with ICPC to fight corruption through our EU funded project activities referred to Citizens Engagement Platform. This website is dedicated to matters relating to government, anti-corruption activities and promoting of the people’ voice, and for the protection of our whistle blowers within the ambit of the law especially the Community Based Monitoring Groups (CBMGs) that monitor the execution of government projects and budget implementation as well as other civil society organizations.
