SUMMARY

Prof. Daniel S. Ugwu is an international development consultant and evaluation expert and Agricultural Economist with over 25 years of professional experience in multi-thematic areas like policy & economic reforms, government systems strengthening, public financial management, ,monitoring and evaluation, database management, research coordination and  management;  climate change, agriculture value chain, food security and nutrition, poverty reduction, citizens empowerment , gender equity and inclusion. Prof. Ugwu’s key skills include effective training, capacity building and coaching skills, networking and inter-personal skills, strong skills in monitoring and evaluation(M&E) and reporting, excellent writing and oral communication skills in English Language as well as computer literacy in word processing, spread sheet and presentation software(micro-soft office). Prof. Ugwu is a featured and registered Consultant/Economist with the African Development Bank (AfDB). He was the Lead Evaluation Expert for the team that successfully executed the review of the Agriculture Fast Track (AFT) Fund in seven (7) African countries for the African Development Bank (AfDB). He is the Chairman/CEO of the African Centre for Rural Development& Environment (ACERDEN) which has undertaken consultancy services for international development organisations such as the World Bank (WB), European Union (EU), UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), among others, for the past seventeen (17) years. Presently, Prof. Ugwu is a Professor/Lecturer with the Enugu State University of Science & Technology(ESUT), South East  Nigeria. He is a highly experienced civil society leader with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Program (1991 to 2002), Local Empowerment and Environmental Management Project (LEEMP), FADAMA Development Programme as well as the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) in Nigeria.

  • Enormous experience and skills in the design, implementation and socio-economic evaluation of community-based infrastructure such as agro-based enterprises, irrigation/fadama facilities, rural electrification, water supply schemes such as bore-holes, health facilities and schools construction/rehabilitation, among others, under the platform of community development.
